| Gate-Keepert® - Dynamic partition access control system
Gate-Keeper ® is an add-on product module used in conjunction with the award winning Silicon Data Vault ® (SDV ® ) from Secure Systems. The SDV ® is a unique intelligent hardware-based security device which provides strong authentication, access control, and data protection for laptops. The SDV’s combination of pre-boot authentication, hardware based ‘on-the fly’ encryption, cryptographic storage separation, dynamic partition access control and remote administration provides unequalled security for hard disk drive data.
Gate-Keeper ® is an innovative enhancement to the SDV ® that provides dynamic partition access control. When fitted to a laptop computer, Gate-Keeper ® and the SDV ® allow a user to control access to each partition on a hard disk drive. Data that is secure when the laptop is used in standalone mode becomes vulnerable to security attacks when connected to a network and even more vulnerable when connected to the internet. The advent of wireless networking means that inadvertent connection to insecure networks can happen anytime that a user turns on their laptop within range of any wireless network.
Gate-keeper’s dynamic partition access control ensures that the user can selectively block access to partitions as the risk changes. Partitions can be made read/write, read-only or no access. This can ensure that no sensitive data is inadvertently put at risk. Gate-Keeper ® and the SDV ® are an effective solution to meet increased world-wide regulatory requirements associated with data confidentiality & privacy.
