high grade eval cert0001

A Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) High Grade evaluation is a form of DSD Cryptographic Evaluation (DCE) that is performed independently of the Australasian Information Security Evaluation Program (AISEP). A High Assurance evaluation encompasses evaluation of security in a product excluding the cryptographic component, which is treated as High Grade cryptography. High Grade and High Assurance evaluations are performed together (where cryptography is included in the product).

The HGSDV was awarded High Grade certification by DSD in 2007.

common criteria 2

Common Criteria is a framework in which computer system users can specify their security functional and assurance requirements. In this framework, vendors can then implement and/or make claims about the security attributes of their products, and testing laboratories can evaluate the products to determine if they actually meet the claims. Common Criteria provides assurance that the process of specification, implementation and evaluation of a computer security product has been conducted in a rigorous and standard manner. The SDV was given Common Criteria EAL2 certification in 2006.

The SDV was also awarded FIPS 180-1 SHA-1 and FIPS 197 AES 128bit certification in 2006.

In the Common Criteria (CC) product certification process, a Security Target (ST) is the central document that specifies security evaluation criteria to substantiate the vendor's claims for the product's security properties. The Security Target for Secure Systems Laptop SDV is available from the link below, along with the Certification Report by the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) - the US organisation responsible for certifying products.
